NEST HOUSE
Re-Fabricate had the amazing opportunity to be apart of a project led by Studio Bark, Nest House build. A collaborative project for a 3 bedroom, accessible eco-home. It was constructed using a U-Build, a modular building system, which allows for self-building, is full-demountable product and is recyclable.
Designed and developed by Studio Bark, the project was ran using a ‘No Building As Usual’ initiative which supports students from diverse backgrounds to engage in, learn more about environmental construction first hand and to construct the project.
The project also invited numerous collectives and groups to support the build and to give a series of talks on the built environment and sustainable design.
TIMBER BARN
Re-Fabricate joined to lend a hand for a weekend. Here we were able to assist the students and Studio Bark with the construction of the Nest House, learn about the U-build techniques, talk and share about sustainable design and advice on careers within the construction industry.
Over the few days we were there we were able to help the team finish a building a barn made entirely of reclaimed timber and scrap materials.
